16-20 Dec (Fri-Sun!!). Revise with the help of Mock 1, Mock 2 and Mock 3. The BIGTEST is already accessible here.
Introduction to the scientific study of human language, with special emphasis on and examples from English. Not more than 1 class can be missed. Class discussions are complemented by home readings. Assessment will be based on either (i) three small written tests; or (ii) the final end-of-course written test. Test dates: 26-28 Sept, 28-30 Nov, 11-14 Dec + BIGTEST 18-21 Dec. The tests will be written online, in Moodle. They will be multiple-choice quizzes, fill-inable any time between Saturday morning and Monday midnight.
